Frequently asked questions

What is worth knowing before the first round.

Are the dates of historical events completely accurate?

Not necessarily. Dates of historical events can be disputed, but we have made every effort to use the dates most widely accepted by historians and the general public. Some dates may still be inaccurate. We encourage users to challenge questionable dates and send feedback through the relevant questions. Your feedback helps us find errors and improve the accuracy of our content.

Can I challenge a date?

Yes! At the end of each question, below the explanation, you’ll find a “Dispute” button. By clicking it, you can indicate whether you think the correct date should be earlier or later than the one shown. We review these submissions and update our questions when necessary. Your feedback is extremely important to us and plays a vital role in improving our content.

What types of games are available?

Our website features two main types of games. Each has several variations, including different game modes adapted to various categories, offering multiple ways to play and explore historical events.

How are guesses scored?

By how far off you are relative to the event's own age, not by the raw number of years. Every round lands on one of five verdicts — perfect, great, good, bad or way off — and only the last one is a miss.

How can I earn achievements?

You can earn achievements by playing the different games on our website and reaching specific performance milestones. Each game may offer its own set of achievements that reward your progress.

Can an event’s photo be wrong?

Yes, there may be small mistakes among event photos. Tempus is a large library containing over 1,000 events, and some of them may contain errors.

Can I play with a friend?

Yes! In 1v1 mode, you can send your friend the game link and play together. You can also press “Find opponent” to be matched online with a player at your level — sign in, and online matches earn you Chrono Rating.

Do I need to create an account?

No, you can play the games without an account. However, you need to sign up to earn points, unlock badges, and appear on the leaderboard.
